Garciapoet.com is a wonderful website and blog on poetry, politics, and pop culture by Edward Garcia, a well-known New York City SLAM artist, and incidentally my sister's boyfriend, and my friend. He received a fellowship from The New York Foundation For The Arts in Poetry in 2003. I recommend checking out the poems and audio sections on his site. The quote above is from one of his poems that I've actually had the opportunity to hear him perform--very intense, moving, and thought provoking.
